Prof. Peter Dalhoff
Mechanical engineer, started wind career in 1996 with Germanischer Lloyd (GL) in Hamburg.
Inspected and certified wind turbines with focus on the drive train and machinery. Damage investigations, technical due diligence and wind energy trainings. Performed research in the area of fatigue strength and Offshore wind turbines. Actively participated in expert boards to create onshore and offshore design standards for wind turbines, such as IEC-, BSH- and GL- standards. Initiated and organized the Hamburg Offshore Wind Conference. Responsible for the development of project certification and technical consulting at GL.
In early 2010 received the reputation of a professor at the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg (HAW Hamburg). Amongst Wind Energy teaching mechanical engineering and engineering design.
Research in Offshore Wind Energy, basic design and machinery design for wind turbines. In particular research in multirotor wind turbine systems, yaw systems, large scale component testing. Applied research in wind farm wake modeling and measuring.
Board Member of HAW's Competence Center for Renewables and Energy Efficiency (CC4E). Part-time research coordinator at Fraunhofer IWES.
Technical expert witness in international arbitration and mediation.
